Dave grew up in the Metro-Milwaukee area where his father was also an alderman. He graduated from the University of WI - Eau Claire with a Bachelors of Business Administration degree, and pursued additional studies in German at the University of WI-Milwaukee. After 5 years at Harley-Davidson Motor Company in Milwaukee he moved to Austria with another opportunity where he eventually met his future wife. In 2009, he and his family returned to Wisconsin. Dave is married and the proud father of 2 teenagers. His interests include cycling, hiking, and coaching youth sports. He is a Senior Quality / Regulatory Manager at GE Healthcare in Milwaukee. His faith, his family, and his community are extremely important to him!
I've been on the Village Board since 2015 and care greatly about the vitality of our community, that Menomonee Falls remains the preferred place to live and work.
I believe that low property taxes and business growth are essential to sustaining the economic viability of our community, and I am committed to making decisions that protect both the tax base as well as the livelihood of our residents.
My role as senior manager at a global medical device manufacturer has provided me with invaluable experiences that align strategically with the Village President position. Managing a global team, planning annual budgets, working cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, sourcing, and suppliers both domestically and internationally, maintaining compliance to changing laws and regulations, and resolving customer issues has enabled me to understand and manage complex and dynamic situations that are all too familiar and common on a government level.
But beyond technical qualifications, an effective Village President isn't measured by how long he or she has served in an elected capacity. Effectiveness and relevance have very little to do with length of service but rather are measured far more by what one does with the position. For me personally, the Village President position is much more than simply presiding over board meetings and chairing committees. It's about pro-actively engaging and supporting the community, our residents, and our businesses. It's characterized by a compassion for others, fostering relationships, building trust, and a desire to see them become successful. That's why I have made it a top priority to attend the majority of groundbreaking and ribbon-cutting ceremonies, visit with local businesses and manufacturers to be able to understand their needs, and personally meet with residents to listen to their concerns.
Realizing that an effective elected official is one who understands the challenges and opportunities on a local and regional level, I meet on a regular basis with Village staff and Waukesha County Executive Paul Farrow to gain a much better understanding of the dynamics and issues that impact our residents and our businesses.
My promise as Village President will be to always strive to make the best decisions that benefit the entire community!
